William H. Waechter In Focus:

Mr. Waechter has practiced law in Seattle since 1991. From the beginning he has focused almost exclusively on the representation of injured persons. His trial experience includes favorable jury verdicts in both state and federal courts and on behalf of both plaintiffs as well as defendants in civil actions.

Just prior to law school, Mr. Waechter joined the civil trial firm of Kargianis, Austin & Erickson. He remained with the Kargianis firm until 1999 at which time he co-founded Soderland Waechter, LLC. In 2004 he joined Lee Smart P.S. Inc., and 2008 Mr. Waechter joined The Law Offices of James S. Rogers.

Mr. Waechter’s trial experience and success has led to a wide variety of speaking engagements at CLEs and other Bar sponsored seminars. He is a frequently chosen arbitrator. His case experience includes personal injury, medical negligence, chiropractic malpractice, railroad litigation, employment disputes and child abuse. In 1994 he was appointed chair of the Railroad Litigation Section of the Washington State Trial Lawyers Association. In 1999 he was appointed designated counsel of the Transportation Communication Union, an international labor union consisting of railroad carmen and communications workers.

Present memberships include the Washington State Trial Lawyers Association, the Washington State Bar Association and U.S. District Court for both Western and Eastern districts.

Mr. Waechter’s approach to the practice of law and case development consists of hands on involvement with the client. In 2007 he successfully constructed an asbestos exposure case on behalf of a retired railroad employee resulting in a recovery well in excess of a million dollars. In 1997 he challenged the chiropractic industries use of high cervical rotation adjustments and again recovered in excess of a million dollars for his injured client.

Mr. Waechter’s roots are in Tacoma where he graduated from Bellarmine Prep in 1982. He attended Willamette University for both undergraduate studies and law school.
