
James S. Rogers, who has practiced personal injury law for nearly thirty four years, is one of Seattle’s most prominent trial lawyers. The founder of the Law Offices of James S. Rogers, Mr. Rogers represents individuals in civil litigation who have been seriously injured or killed due to the fault of others.
Mr. Rogers attended the University of Washington for his undergraduate studies. He then attended the University of Arizona College Of Law, after which he was admitted to the Washington State Bar in 1973. Mr. Rogers has been engaged in private practice since 1974. He established his own law offices in 1986, and he became a co-founder of Rogers & Fleck, PLLC, in 2001. In 2007 Mr. Rogers founded the Law Offices of James S. Rogers.
Mr. Rogers’s work in the practice of personal injury litigation has resulted in his invitation to join several distinguished honorary societies. Mr. Rogers is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, a Fellow of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers, and a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (President, Washington Chapter). These organizations extend invitations to only a select group of highly qualified and accomplished trial lawyers in the United States.
Mr. Rogers has also earned the respect of his peers in trial law. Mr. Rogers was selected for the 2003-2007 editions of “The Best Lawyers in America”, and was named one of Seattle Magazine’s “Top Lawyers” in its 2003, 2005 and 2007 editions. Mr. Rogers has been selected as a “Super Lawyer” by Washington Law & Politics every year since 2000, and has been named among the top vote-getters each year by vote of his peers. Mr. Rogers was named in Seattle Metropolitan Magazine’s, “Best Lawyers” issue, June 2006.
In 1998, Mr. Rogers was honored by the Washington State Trial Lawyers Association as its Trial Lawyer of the Year and, in 2002, he received WSTLA’s President’s award for his contribution to the civil justice system.
Mr. Rogers has been a leader in governing bodies of trial lawyers. He has served as President of the Washington State Trial Lawyers Association (WSTLA), and the Western Trial Lawyers Association. Mr. Rogers was a nine-year member of the Board of Governors of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America (ATLA). Mr. Rogers is currently on the Board of Directors of the Attorney’s Information Exchange Group (AIEG), a national organization of attorneys handling automotive product liability litigation, and a member of its Executive Committee. Mr. Rogers is certified as a Civil Trial Advocate by the National Board of Trial Advocacy.
Mr. Rogers vigorously shares his passion for and knowledge of personal injury litigation with his colleagues. He has spoken at well over 100 seminars sponsored by state and national trial lawyer associations. Mr. Rogers is Editor-in-Chief of Anatomy of a Personal Injury Lawsuit, 3rd Edition, published by ATLA press, and was co-moderator of Anatomy of a Personal Injury Lawsuit: The Video Series. He has authored articles published in ATLA’s Trial Magazine, WSTLA’s Trial News, The Practical Litigator, and National Trial Lawyer. Mr. Rogers annotated a chapter in Peter Perlman’s Opening Statements, and wrote a chapter entitled “Claims Involving Faulty or Defective Equipment – Is there a Companion Product Liability Claim?” in Automobile Accident Litigation Deskbooks, published by WSTLA. Mr. Rogers co-authored the chapter “Trying the Case” in Handling Motor Vehicle Accident Cases, published by Callaghan Press.
