DSHS Motion Dismissal in Cox and Powell Case

Court denies DSHS’s motion to dismiss a wrongful death claim brought by Chuck and Judy Cox on behalf of their grandsons, Charlie and Braden Powell. Attorney Cheryl Snow successfully argued that the Cox’s deserve to have their case decided by a jury. Attorney Snow convinced the court that the boys were in the care, custody, and control of DSHS when they were murdered by their father, Josh Powell. According to Snow, “the Dept. utterly failed in its duty to protect these two little boys.” Click one of these links to watch the KIRO TV video, read the Seattle Times story, or read the News Tribune story.
